Thinking about China in the Grips of Corona Virus

The recent outbreak of Corona virus in Wuhan, China has changed the face of tourism and travel.  Life in many of my favorite destinations is radically changed by precautions necessary to contain the epidemic.  This photo from a recent New York Times article is a striking and very sad illustration of the change.

This wonderful, lively country, one of my favorite destinations on the planet, has been shuttered by the Corona virus.  If you read the newspapers of any Chinese city,  the main topic is the epidemic and efforts to control it.  I miss the China I knew and wish China and its people luck in returning to health.
